The Legal Division keeps all records for the Hancock County Court of Common Pleas. This includes civil cases, felony criminal cases, domestic relations files, and 3rd District Court of Appeals records. The office started e-filing for all case types on September 4, 2019. This means attorneys and some self-represented parties can submit documents online around the clock. The system provides instant confirmation and case updates. Search Hancock County Criminal Records
To look up Hancock County criminal court records, use the case management system available through the Hancock County Clerk of Courts page. The online tools let you search by name, case number, and case type. E-filed cases show up quickly in the system. For older records or cases filed before the digital system was in place, contact the office directly.
Under ORC Section 149.43, Ohio law says you can inspect public court records without giving a reason. The Clerk must make files available during normal business hours. You can also send a written request by mail to 300 South Main Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Include the case number or party name and payment for fees.
The Findlay Municipal Court at 318 Dorney Plaza, Room 206, handles misdemeanor cases and traffic tickets. Call (419) 424-7141 for information. The court serves Findlay and all townships except Washington Township. You can search by name, case number, or driver's license number. Records before January 1984 are only available at the court office in person.

The Court of Common Pleas has jurisdiction over all felony cases in Hancock County per ORC Chapter 2301. Drug offenses, violent crimes, property theft, and fraud all go through this court. The court also hears civil suits, domestic relations cases, and probate matters. Juvenile cases are handled by a separate division. The 3rd District Court of Appeals hears appeals from Hancock County.
The Findlay Municipal Court processes misdemeanor criminal cases and traffic violations under ORC Title 19. DUI, petty theft, disorderly conduct, and all traffic tickets go through this court. Civil cases up to $15,000 and small claims up to $6,000 are also handled here. The Municipal Court has its own search tools and daily docket.
