The court serves the cities of Elyria and North Ridgeville, the townships of Carlisle, Columbia, Eaton, Elyria, Grafton, and Lagrange, and the villages of Lagrange and Grafton.

Since May 8, 2020, the court has used FIVEPOINTPAYMENTS for online payment processing and all credit card payments. The court has detailed Local Rules on records management. Local Rule 14 says all records are retained according to the schedule in Rule 26 of the Supreme Court Rules of Superintendence or Ohio Revised Code 1901.41. Case files can be disposed of after the date of final entry once the file has been audited and electronically imaged. Minor misdemeanor traffic and criminal cases older than five years may be shredded without scanning. Non-misdemeanor cases kept longer than five years can be scanned then shredded.
